This patch reworks the termite mound and fixes various issues with ambient ai, as well as overall featuring much more ambient ai to further make the world feel more alive and help with food needs for growing animals.

Features:

  • Reworked termites with new effects and fixed various issues around their movement.
  • Added scorpions as ambientai.

Tweaks:

  • Increased amount of ambient AI around the map (more fish/frogs/fireflies, few more birds, added back crabs)
  • Reduced time progression speed a bit during sundown/sunrise to stretch out the event.

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed an issue where ambient AI wasn't exiting their escape routine and kept runnin'.

Hotfixes:

Since the last major patch a lot of hotfixes have gone out, but no announcement was made other than in the steam forums and the discord, so here's a rundown of all the changes so far since the last major patch release:

  • Performance and stability improvements for both client and server.
  • Fixed various failure cases preventing eating foliage as herbivores.
  • Fixed ability system crash.
  • Fixed animation crash.
  • Fixed crash while placing nest.
  • Limited amount of corpses.
  • Reset destruction timer on items and corpses on interaction so they wouldn't despawn.
  • Fixed a bug with corpse removal.
  • Decreased random emote frequency for Parasaurolophus.
  • Decreased AI respawn frequency to 25 minutes.
  • Fixed not being able to place nest bedding foliage.
  • Fixed mud and blood not being removed in water.,
  • Removed F3 bug submission window for now, was causing too much issues.
  • Adjusted temperatures various non-hot lakes.,
  • Speculative fix for pawn sometimes being launched forward fast on landing
  • Fixed AI not sprinting.
  • Removed knockback from Dilophosaurus secondary attacks (was unintentionally added, wip feature).
  • Fixed a bug where AI wouldn't attack while in combat.
  • AI now rotates towards target to make combat look a little more realistic, might incur a bit more sliding, WIP.
  • Fixed a bug where AI kept breaking off their attack.
  • Fixed a bug where AI was frozen in place.
  • No more insomnia - fixed AI not sleeping enough at night.
  • Fixed AI not fighting back when attacked by juvies.
  • Fixed AI not exiting eating/drinking and fighting back when damaged.
  • Fixed character being yeeted sometimes.
  • Fixed an issue where some ambient AI could not be picked up.
  • Clipped wings of termite larva so they no longer fly.
